日本以外での評価はどうなんだろう？と考え、今日はイギリス国内のFIAT 500ファンが語る「サーキット走行」や「レース参戦」のリアルな声をご紹介します。
英国でも、FIAT 500は単なるシティカーを超えて、走りを楽しむ人が意外と多いんです！
“It’s brilliant fun, even if it’s not the fastest.”

I took my 500 (TwinAir) on Brands Hatch for a novice track day. Everyone kept telling me “Mate, you’re mad,” but honestly, I loved every minute of it.
It’s obviously not a rocket, but the handling is so nimble. The short wheelbase makes it hilarious through corners. People in bigger cars were surprised how late I could brake and how well it turned in.
Now I’m looking into maybe joining the Fiat Racing Challenge next year!

I’ve got a standard 500 Lounge, nothing fancy. Went along to a Fiat club day at Oulton Park just to watch, but ended up getting on track for a couple of sessions.
Of course, the Abarths were flying past me, but I kept up okay in the twisty bits. The instructors kept saying how well balanced the car is. I’m tempted to upgrade the suspension slightly, but even stock it’s fun.
Plus, it gets loads of smiles in the paddock. Everyone loves how cute it looks in a helmet!

I’ve been racing my Abarth 500 in the Trofeo Abarth UK series for a couple of seasons. The car is perfect for close racing — not ridiculously powerful, but enough to keep things exciting.
The community is amazing. Loads of banter, no egos. Even if you break something, there’s always someone with a spare part or a helping hand.
And my wife thinks it’s brilliant that our race car is also the same car we take for Sunday brunch!

My first track experience was in my 500 Pop. I thought I’d be terrified, but actually it was a great way to learn lines and braking points because it’s not too fast.
And honestly, it handles better than I expected. After that day at Knockhill, I’m hooked.
Next time, I might try a mild remap — but even stock, it’s smile-per-mile.

People look at the 500 and think it’s just a city runabout. But bring it to a track day and you’ll see how chuckable it is.
I’ve chased down bigger cars through tight corners — it’s all about momentum. Plus, it’s cheap on tyres and brakes compared to my old Golf GTI.
Best part? Driving home after a track day, feeling like I’ve just driven a race car… in my everyday car.

UKでもFIAT 500のサーキット走行やレース文化は確かに存在していて、特にAbarth系が中心ではありますが、ノーマル500でもトラックデイを楽しむ人は多いです。英国ならではの「フレンドリーでお祭り感のある空気」も魅力で、参加の敷居が低いのが印象的です。
可愛い見た目とは裏腹に、走りへの情熱を隠し持つFIAT 500。UKのオーナーたちの声を聞くと、その奥深さを改めて感じますね！
